In a sense, those that are highly skilled at plumbing are very similar to religious practices when it comes to our daily lives. This article will address how plumbing and Buddhism have a direct connection, at least regarding the way that we process both of these very diverse concepts.

What Is Buddhism?

Buddhism is a religion that was created thousands of years ago. It was the results of the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama. He was the son of a king, a prince that was in India, and he lived a very interesting life. His father was obsessed with making sure that his son was not aware of the downfalls of life. These downfalls included how people would get sick, how people would age, and how we will all eventually die. When the Siddhartha Gautama realized these three truths, it caused him to run away, seeking the true meaning of life. Though his father had intended to protect him, what he did was propel him into a frame of mind of seeking the truth that is really what life is all about. He eventually ended up with what is called the Bo or Bodhi Tree where he received enlightenment. It is there that he became Awake, and took on the name of Gautama Buddha.

What Does Plumbing Have To Do With Buddhism?

Buddhism is very similar to plumbing when you look at it a certain way. The plumbing that needs to be fixed refers to our mind. When we have problems in our lives, the way we process these problems can have a lot to do with whether or not we can resolve them on our own. Sometimes we need to have plumbers portland come in to help us get everything back to normal. Buddha is representative of the plumber, the individual that was able to help people understand life in a completely different way, allowing them to wake up to what their true purpose in life was. He allowed them to understand the intricacies of how your frame of mind has everything to do with how you live your life and the way that you experience the life that you live. In the same way, a plumber can provide you with that you would otherwise not be able to receive were not for their expertise. Therefore, the Buddha and the plumber are both representative of teachers that can show you the way, and help you resolve problems that you may currently be experiencing.

Although there is an obvious difference between plumbing and religion, when you look at it a certain way, it is clear there are correlations. It’s hard to imagine that there would be any connection at all. However, when you realize that the way that we live our lives, and the perceptions that we have are all based on our personal understanding of how life works, we can see how understanding the basic concepts of plumbing can be correlated in this matter. If we were always to take the time to learn a little bit more about plumbing, and how pipes worked, and how to fix simple problems, we would no longer need to contact the plumber after that point in time. This is why the Buddha was always very emphatic about living life your way, and that he was not someone to be revered or put upon a pedestal, despite the many statues of this individual that can be found worldwide. It’s all about your personal perceptions and what you understand how to do which allows you to live your life to the fullest. Whether you are talking about religion or plumbing, it comes down to your personal perception of life, and what you know, regarding how smoothly everything will go.
