The Association is among the oldest and well known organization in North
America and around the world serving the Deen
of Islam without any distinction of nationalities and languages.
The Association has been serving those who seek help and guidance in
religious matters whether as members of the free society or with freedom
denied in all parts of the world. The years of hard work and sincere
desire has resulted in changes in many societies and communities in
North America and the world. It has been established with the Islamic
ideals to serve anyone and everyone interested in the cause of Imam
Husain A. S. without any obligation. There
are no set dues and requirements to utilize the
Husainiyah for Islamic functions except to follow the
Shariah as brought to mankind by the Holy
Prophet (SAWAS) and His noble Divinely Appointed
Ahl Al-Bayt A. S.
The concept of this dynamic organization emerged in the year 1968 A.D.
and started the work of organizing publicized
Majalis on the community level for the first time in North
America starting from Chicago. This concept was unfamiliar at the time
and was followed by a similar effort on a massive scale in Toronto in
1972, thus setting the trend of public gatherings of
Aza and invitation of
Zaker and Ulama for Muharram.
The Imam Husain A. S. Association was well
known worldwide by this time and were
fortunate to start the holding of daily gatherings during the Holy Month
of Ramadan.
With concerted effort and great diligence the Association was registered
as charitable non-profit religious organization with the Government of
Ontario and Canada, a specially unique status
at that time.
